Emma loved Christmas, especially choosing gifts for her friends. That year, she wanted to give something special to her best friend, Lisa. After scrolling through ideas online, she decided to make a hand-painted ceramic mug. It felt more personal, and Emma liked the thought of giving something unique.
She spent the whole evening painting tiny snowflakes and writing “You’re the warmest person I know” around the rim. When the design was finally ready, she put the mug into the oven to set the paint, made herself some tea, and waited proudly.
But when she opened the oven twenty minutes later, her smile disappeared.
The mug had cracked right down the middle, the paint had smudged, and the words had turned into a blurry blue line. It looked nothing like the cute Pinterest examples she had followed. Emma felt her stomach drop. The gift she imagined so clearly was now a complete mess.
